Social Marketing

Whenever you start a website marketing campaign one of the most important parts of the web to utilize when trying to make money online is social sites. These websites are also known as Web 2.0 and the definition is an interactive website where the user has the possibility to interact with the webmaster, blogger, or whoever created the content. I feel the biggest part of the Web 2.0 is the blogosphere and any internet marketer that would like to reach Google page one for a competitive keywords should be utilizing the overwhelming effect which these websites hold within Google’s index. Other parts of the Web 2.0 include social networking such as twitter and face book, also social bookmarking such as squidoo.com and hubpages.com. All of these types of sites can be utilized when trying to market a webpage online and even though quite a few will not give a do follow backlink they all help increase exposure therefore increasing your personal brand.

First and foremost lets discuss the blogosphere and how an internet marketing can utilize it to gain first page rankings. A blog is a website which is usually hosted on a free server and the software on the server takes care of the majority of html and other coding a web presence needs to exsist. Blogging came in with a force and pretty much took away any need to learn HTML as well as other codes used to program websites. An internet marketer can take advantage of blogs three ways. First they can get to know the blogger then be asked to guest post on the blog meaning the blogger allows the person to post their article to the blog in exchange for a link or two. The second way which a marketer can take advantage of the blogosphere is by commenting on do follow blogs or blogs with the no follow attribute within the comments section of the CSS removed. The final way a marketer can take advantage of the blogosphere is by starting up their own blog and linking back to a main presence usually on the bottom of every post making sure to rotate the anchor text.

The next type of social site we will discuss is social networking which usually have no follow on all of their links. I have found the marketer’s best networking site is Twitter since it is extremely easy to use. Face book and Myspace also come to mind when I think of social networking. If you decide to use this platform of media in your marketing campaign you should not be out for the sale or backlink, but rather networking. I have found it extremely useful to use these sites to find other webmasters to do cross promotional campaigns with. Sites such as twitter also offer excellent platforms which you can conduct customer service.

The last form of social marketing I would like to talk about is social bookmarking. These sites are not only great for networking, but also some are great for gaining high authority backlinks. For these sites it is important to seem extremely exciting and do your best to gain the interest of the bookmarking community. If the community finds you interesting not only will you see the first page of the bookmarking site you will also see plenty of referral traffic.
